CDR080: 10th of 13 monthly Sidekick Wave singles/EPs

I've long wanted to do music in an industrial punk format. Something that blended the brevity and drive of hardcore punk with classic Wax Trax-style industrial synths and beats. This is probably the best version of that I'm ever going to get to.

This six song release of angry music was mostly made at a very happy time of life. Sometimes it's easier to make angry music when things are golden. The emotion comes out as a form of excitement rather than pain.

All the tracks except for Ugly Dreams were originally recorded in Chiang Mai, Thailand late summer of 2022 in a great little air BnB. I sat at a tiny little make-up table/vanity that was painted lilac and looked like it was designed to match a child's idea of where a princess would sit. There I sat sequencing noisy beats and screaming out angry/surrealist lyrics. A great memory! Final programming/ editing/ mixing/ mastering done in Orange, CA. in Feb and March of 2023.

I am extremely grateful to Troy Date for his longterm friendship and for laying down amazing live bass and keys to "Cement Truck Rampage". His contributions significantly elevate the track. Please check out his own music at: troydate.bandcamp.com
