CDR078: AM's first album of 2023 dabbles in calm seas/fever concepts; all questions from the previous album answered, there's time for the author to explore things like fantasy, sports, the weather, chastity and listening.

Reconnecting with family and longstanding friends had a significant influence on how this album was made, unmade and then remade.

During the writing and recording of A L S O 7, nothing felt rote or overly cozy, also not feeling unfamiliar or insecure. Instead, all seemed to flow from a tender area between old memory and new experience, where synchromystic possibilities abound, in abundance and are easy-to-miss.

It's an album about gratitude, as they all are, and it's especially an album about receiving grace, reaching out, maybe even overreaching, in gratitude for melody, harmony, rhythm and all that is.

RIYL: reinvention, minimalism, nondualism, bilocation, thinking about ukuleles without actually playing them.

Though still tulpa-tethered to the record-breaking Seattle heat of October 2022 for half of the album, most of what you hear here was made facing the Atlantic Ocean, and at a far loftier vibration than any material I recorded in Seattle last spring.

Health struggles that the author is still facing in 2023 prevented tracking vocals for "The Middle Wave" in time for this album's release, so here are the lyrics for your reading pleasure:
